The 44th Annual Terry Fox Run will take place in London at Springbank Gardens, on Wonderland Road (between Riverside Drive and Springbank Drive), on Sunday, September 15. Registration is open from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., and the official start is at 10:00 a.m. There will be special guest speakers, games, face-painting and musical entertainment. Participants are also welcome to participate virtually if they choose, through the Terry Fox Run website, terryfox.org. Important points about the Terry Fox Run are: 1) There is no registration fee, and no minimum donation is required. 2) It is not a timed, competitive event, but rather a family-oriented one. 3) Participants can walk, run, roller-blade, wheel-chair, bicycle or push a stroller for the distance they choose (2 km, 5 km, or 10 km) on the totally accessible trail. 4) A Silent Auction and Quiz contest will add to the fun of the day. 5) Participants are encouraged to bring their own water vessels to fill up at the water station. Pledge forms for the Run are available online at www.terryfox.org. Participants can register online either individually or with a team and use the website (www.terryfox.org) to fund-raise. The local run also has our own Twitter account (#terryfoxrunlond), Facebook page (LondonTerryFoxRun), and Instagram page (terryfoxrunlondon) for updates. |
